When you gaffe
We are not perfect. Mistakes we make. Some big, some small. What is the best communications strategy to effect immediately following a gaffe? Hiding it would be ideal if we lived in the Truman Story and the gaffe took place off set. Reality is someone is bound to notice. PR companies make a business out of managing crisis. Quite often they are worth every penny. Done well, managing gaffes minimizes risk and stabilizes your reputation.
But, what if your reputation was not that great before the gaffe? This is a problem.
Establishing a good reputation now saves you from if-a-gaffe-happens-hell later
